Shareholders of Huna Totem voted to create the Elders' Benefit Trust at
the corporation’s 2003 annual meeting. The Trust pays a one-time
$1500 distribution to eligible elders.
The main purpose of the trust is to provide an added economic
benefit to elders which are held in the utmost honor and respect.
To date, 90 elders have received their special payment.
To pass, the shareholder resolution to create the Trust needed
a simple majority of 50 percent plus one of shareholders voting.
Seventy-two percent of those voting supported the resolution.
